Miele's FashionMaster steam ironing system glossary
Active ironing table
As soon as the steam button on the hand iron is pressed, the fan
inside the ironing table starts, and switches off automatically
during ironing breaks. The memory function activates the last
used suction or inflation function the next time steam is required.
Automatic descaling
Descaling now or later? One less matter to worry about. You only
have to key in the water hardness once. The appliance informs
you in good time when it is necessary to descale the machine.
The programme starts at the touch of a button, and with the
addition of a suitable descaling agent it runs completely
automatically.
Automatic rinsing
Mineral residue left behind by the evaporation process must be
removed by rinsing the steam generator to ensure consistent
appliance performance. The FashionMaster calculates rinse
intervals automatically based on the volume of water evaporated.
The rinsing process will then commence automatically
immediately after switching the appliance on. The only matter to
take care of is to empty the residual water container.
Auto-Off function
When the hand iron or Steam Jet are not used for approx. 15
minutes, the entire appliance switches off automatically. There is
no need to worry if you have forgotten to switch the iron off.
CoolDown function
Safety is always high on the agenda at Miele: movement sensors
and button monitoring ensure that the hand iron switches off
automatically after it has not been used for approximately 3
minutes. As soon as a movement is detected, the appliance
switches on again.
Honeycomb soleplate

The honeycomb structure has already proven effective on Miele
honeycomb drums and now also makes a difference on Miele’s
FashionMaster. Unlike conventional hand irons, with the patented
honeycomb soleplate steam is distributed along a network of
narrow channels across the entire soleplate. This allows the iron
to glide effortlessly and gently over textiles, at the same time
ensuring perfect ironing results.
Infinite height adjustment
The ironing table can be adjusted effortlessly to the precise
working height required by the user. Supported by a built-in gas
pressure stay, the ironing table can be conveniently adjusted to a
working height of between 83 and 102 cm.
Inflation function
The ironing table of the FashionMaster features an inflation
function to prevent seam and hem impressions on lower layers of
garments. The fan creates an air cushion between the item being
ironed and the table. Perfect for ironing frills, cashmere pullovers,
etc.
Ironing multi-layered items
Save physical strength and time! With the FashionMaster, multi-
layered and dense textiles now only require ironing on one side,
not on both. The large quantity of steam and high steam pressure
applied can penetrate even thick, dense material such as denim.
This makes ironing on both sides unnecessary.
Large ironing table with Comfort Zone
With a 120 x 40 cm large ironing table, even entire trouser legs fit
on the FashionMaster. The Comfort Zone at the narrow end of the
ironing table is designed for you to iron the entire front of a blouse
or shirt in a single process without having to re-position the
shoulder area. A great time-saving feature.
Non-stick soleplate
Sequins, prints, or extremely delicate fabrics – with Miele’s
FashionMaster you can handle any type of challenge. The clip-on
non-stick soleplate for extra gentle treatment is also suitable for
items with fashionable adornment. Its Teflon finish prevents shiny
patches on dark textiles without having to turn them inside out.
Steam
With up to 4 bar steam pressure and a consistent output
of 100 g/min you can achieve professional ironing results
with the FashionMaster. The dry steam penetrates even
very thick, dense material and reduces ironing time. Steam pulses
or continuous steam delivery - you can select the most suitable
option using the steam button on the hand iron.
Storage compartments
When the FashionMaster is folded together, only its striking
elegant and timeless design catches your eye, not cables, not the
hand iron, etc. This is thanks to two accessory compartments:
hand iron and cable are accommodated below the resting area for
the hand iron. The second compartment is situated in the tower. It
accommodates supply lead, non-stick soleplate and the Steam
Jet.
Suction function
The built-in function ensures precise steam penetration of
garments and reduces the build-up of condensation. Another
benefit: items on the ironing table are automatically held securely
in place during ironing.
