Rangehoods Airflow / Extraction testing Tested to strict European standards Please note Airflow reading is taken at the end of the ducting length with the filters in place. This gives a realistic value of air throughput once installed. In Europe, domestic rangehoods are subject to strict test conditions for the compulsory energy efficiency labelling, which all manufacturers must comply with. In addition to the energy efficiency class, the European labelling also provides objective information on the fluid-dynamic efficiency, the lighting efficiency, the efficiency of the grease filters, as well as the noise level. In the absence of a comparable Australian or New Zealand test standard, it is at the discretion of individual manufacturers to determine not only how they test their rangehoods, but also to what extent they will make their technical performance data publically available. We would encourage you to ask exactly HOW other manufacturers have tested the declared air throughput of their rangehoods, as Miele has found that there are some rangehoods on the local market which fall well short of their claimed air throughput performance, when tested under European Standards.
