14 Glossary Miele's FashionMaster steam ironing system Suction function The suction function built into the ironing table ensures precise steam penetration of garments and reduces the build-up of condensation. Items on the ironing board are automatically held securely in place during ironing. Active ironing board The ironing board actively assists you with three intelligent functions. The inflation function ensures that items are ironed particularly gently and the suction function has a more intensive steam application. Pressing the steam button on the iron activates the suction or inflation function of the ironing board, and switches it automatically off when you decide to take a short break. The memory function saves the last selected setting and reactivates it when steam is required again. Non-stick soleplate Sequin, prints, etc. or extremely delicate fabrics – with the Miele FashionMaster you can handle any type of challenge. The clip-on non-stick soleplate for extra gentle treatment is also suitable for items with fashionable ornamentation. Its Teflon finish prevents shiny patches appearing on dark textiles without having to turn them inside out. Storage compartments When the FashionMaster is folded, only its strikingly elegant design is visible thanks to two accessory compartments. The iron and the cable holders are stored under the iron rest while the second compartment is in the appliance base to store away the supply lead, non-stick soleplate, Steam Jet and other accessories. Inflation function For anything that needs to be smoothed but not pressed, the FashionMaster ironing board offers an inflation function. The fan creates an air cushion between the item being ironed and the board. Perfect for ironing frills, cashmere jumpers, etc. The same function prevents seam and hem impressions. Automatic rinsing Mineral residue left behind by the evaporation process must be regularly removed by rinsing the steam generator to ensure consistent appliance performance. The FashionMaster calculates rinse intervals automatically based on the volume of water evaporated. The rinsing process will then commence automatically immediately after switching the appliance on. All you need to do is empty the residual water container. AutoOff function If the iron or Steam Jet is not used for approximately 15 minutes, the entire appliance switches off automatically. No need to worry if you have forgotten to switch the iron off. Honeycomb soleplate 1) The benefits of the Miele honeycomb drum are now being used on the FashionMaster. With the patented honeycomb soleplate, the steam is distributed differently than with conventional irons: it is lightning-quick through the small channels between the honeycombs, across the entire soleplate. This allows the iron to glide effortlessly and gently over textiles, at the same time ensuring perfect ironing results. ComfortZone With a 120 x 40 cm ironing board, there is even sufficient space for long trouser legs. The ComfortZone at the narrow end of the ironing board is designed for you to iron the entire front of a blouse or shirt in a single process without having to re-position the shoulder area. A very time-saving feature. CoolDown function Safety is always high on the agenda at Miele: consequently, movement sensors and monitoring of controls ensure that the hand iron switches off automatically after it has not been used for approximately 3 minutes. As soon as a movement is detected, the appliance switches on again. Steam With up to 4 bar steam pressure and a consistent output of 100 g/ min you can achieve professional ironing results with the FashionMaster. The dry steam penetrates even very thick, dense material and reduces ironing time. Steam pulses or continuous steam delivery - you can select the most suitable option using the steam button on the hand iron. Display The display enables you to keep track of appliance settings. It also informs you sufficiently early and reliably if, for example, descaling is required or the water container needs replenishing. 1-2 lift system Two easy steps to set up, requiring little or no effort at all! With the patented 2) 1-2 lift system, the entire appliance, consisting of a hand iron, ironing board, steam generator and Steam Jet, can be set up in easy steps. Unlock and allow the ironing board to slide into a horizontal position until it engages - almost like magic. Guided first-time use Before using the FashionMaster for the first time, the programme guides you through the most important settings. Simply select which language you would like information to be displayed in, and key in the water hardness. The appliance then automatically calculates the right descaling cycle. This ensures that your FashionMaster is optimally maintained. Guided descaling After you have set the water hardness before using the appliance, the programme automatically determines the required descaling cycle and displays a timely reminder. You start the descaling programme by simply pressing a button. The appliance will prompt you to add a descaling tablet, and then the programme starts automatically. Wheels Mobile and nimble: the FashionMaster stands firmly without requiring additional support even when folded together, and can be positioned anywhere in your home. With its floor-friendly rollers, the appliance can be moved effortlessly wherever you need it. It takes door thresholds, carpet edges and even the odd step or two in its stride.
