21 Miele countertop extractors Planning notes for Miele countertop extractor Recirculating and vented setups If the countertop extractor is to be used in a vented arrangement, depending on on-site conditions, the air path can be freely positioned. Positions to the side as well as to the rear are possible. The fan can be positioned either to the right or to the left, and depending on this, the vent outlet can be installed with a bend. In any case, Miele recommends using suitable ducting material with 222 x 89 mm flat ducting. For venting through the wall we recommend Miele's DMK 150 wall vent. Using the countertop extractor in a vented arrangement If the vent is at the back, please observe that the back panel of the base unit has to be removed or cut out if the countertop depth is 600 mm to install the flat ducting. When using the countertop extractor in a recirculating arrangement, we recommend guided ducting via the plinth with the assistance of the DUU 1000 recirculation box. The plinth must be at least 100 mm high. To prevent a draught around users' feet it makes sense not to install Miele's recirculation module directly at that height. The recirculation module can therefore be freely installed in the vicinity of the plinth, at the side or at the back of a cooking island. It must be observed that implementing the module at the rear is only possible with a deeper countertop. Using the countertop extractor in a recirculating arrangement
