20 Unlike a conventional rangehood, the TwoInOne elements with countertop extractor are integrated directly into the countertop, surface- mounted or flush. Depending on installation requirements, various options of ducting are available. To ensure perfectly functioning countertop extraction in vented or recirculation arrangements, Miele recommends in any case to use guided ducting via the base unit and plinth. This prevents moisture damage to kitchen furniture and reduces sound emissions. The following planning criteria should be observed for the installation of the appliance: We recommend a 900 mm wide base unit to install the KMDA. The countertop depth should be at least 600 mm for the appliance, and the plinth height at least 100 mm for guided ducting. The cutout dimension for flush installation is W = 804 mm x D = 524 mm; please take stepped cut-out into consideration. The cutout dimensions for surface-mounted installation (with or without a frame) W = 780 mm x D = 500 mm. When installing the appliance it must be ensured that it is accessible from below. Depending on the furniture manufacturer, incremental sizes may vary resulting in different planning options. For example, if using a flat ducting of 95 mm and a countertop of 600 mm, the drawer must be shortened. Drawer heights may vary. A fixed faceplate must be installed in the upper area of a drawer unit. Planning notes for Miele countertop extractor KMDA 7774 Flexible installation
