10 Unsuitable containers (Refers only to microwave operation) • Do not use metal containers, aluminium foil or cutlery in the appliance as metal reflects microwaves. This means that the microwaves will not have an effect on the food. Food in sealed metal containers or wrapped in aluminium foil will not be heated. • Do not use containers with metallic decoration, such as gold rims or cobalt blue. Decoration containing metal reflects microwaves and can lead to sparking. • Crystal glass is unsuitable as it contains lead. Blown crystal can easily crack due to the air pockets. The same is true for glass bowls or plates with a knurled edge. • Wooden containers contain water, which evaporates during the cooking process. This causes the wood to dry out and crack. Wooden containers are therefore not suitable for use in microwave ovens. General notes
